Best Time to Visit Koh Samui

Peak Season (Dec-Feb & Jul-Aug): Dry, sunny weather. Perfect beach conditions. Most expensive period but best weather guarantee.
Shoulder (Mar-Jun & Sep): Good weather, fewer crowds, better hotel deals. Occasional rain but generally dry.
Monsoon (Oct-early Dec): Heavy rain, rough seas. AVOID if possible—many resorts close, activities limited. Samui's monsoon is opposite to Phuket/Krabi.
⚠️ Important: Koh Samui has OPPOSITE weather to Phuket. When Phuket is rainy (May-Oct), Samui is often sunny. When Samui is rainy (Oct-Dec), Phuket is perfect.

Best Beaches in Koh Samui

Chaweng Beach (Most Popular)

Longest beach, great swimming, lively atmosphere. Hotels, restaurants, nightlife. Can be busy but excellent for first-timers.

Lamai Beach (More Relaxed)

Second-largest beach. Quieter than Chaweng but still good facilities. Better value accommodation. Popular with families.

Bophut (Boutique & Charming)

Fisherman's Village with character. Boutique hotels, excellent restaurants, Friday night walking street. More sophisticated vibe.

Maenam (Peaceful & Budget-Friendly)

Quiet, local feel, less developed. Great for long stays. Budget guesthouses and mid-range resorts.
